Welcome to the Salt Grammar School Maths web
page. As a specialist school for Maths and Computing we are
understandably proud of our status as a leading Faculty within
the school. We hope that this page will help to provide a little
information about what we are about and provide an additional
link between home and school to provide curriculum information,
resources, news and help.
Salt Maths department continues to improve and
develop. We are a strong team of eleven specialist staff with
a wealth of experience across all key stages.Our specialist
status has been instrumental in refurbishing seven dedicated
maths classrooms with interactive whiteboards which has had
a significant impact on the delivery of the maths curriculum.
In Key Stage 3 our students have increasingly
benefited from our commitment to transition and successful
implementation of the National Numeracy Strategy which is now
fully embedded. We are pleased with our recent SATs results
and continue to drive up the numbers of students working at
level five or above.
The picture in Key stage 4
is equally encouraging with well over 50% of students attaining
grade C and higher.
This success is further reflected in the keen take up for AS
and A2 Mathematics including the very demanding Further Maths
courses.
